Here's One Skincare Ingredient You Definitely Won't Find in Cardi B's Routine https://ift.tt/3tsFxGS

In case you weren't aware, Twitter is home to an expansive skincare community. Like any other public platform, you'll find a mixture of enthusiasts and novices offering up firsthand reviews and advice, but make no mistake, there are plenty of experts in the mix as well. And when you're a celebrity with millions of followers looking to crowdsource a huge pool of recommendations, it's not a bad place to start. Rapper Cardi B did just that last week when she took to Twitter to air her grievances about some annoying skincare woes and put out an APB for any hydratingbreakout-clearing products she could try. What came next was a fast and furious response from the Bardi Gang along with some surprising revelations about the musician's recent skincare experiences.

"I think it’s the water out here .....What are some good products for little black heads break outs and dry skin on your face ?" the "WAP" songstress tweeted to her nearly 17 million Twitter followers after explaining her struggles on January 25. The ensuing back-and-forth included callouts of popular skincare brands like CeraVe and The Ordinary and ingredient recommendations like retinol, which is largely revered as a go-to for evening the complexion and quelling unwanted texture. But according to her tweets, Cardi B simply isn't a fan of retinol. For someone whose skin always appears so smooth in her Instagram selfies, this was quite the shock!

Everyone is different, so of course, retinol isn't the best choice for all skin types. (If you need a refresher on who the best candidates are and who should steer clear, check out this expert breakdown.) In an exchange where a follower recommended a 1 to 2% concentration of the stuff, Cardi B explained that she had actually been prescribed it by a derm just weeks prior but that it left her skin dry and burning. When another user chimed in to inform Cardi B of the well-known purging phase that goes along with starting a retinol regimen, Cardi B came back with the response, "Yea the doctor told me that ...I don’t got time for my face to do that." Fair enough!

But it looks like Cardi B did pick up some worthwhile skincare advice in her mentions. Aside from singer Kehlani popping up to recommend a consult with skin guru Sean Garrette, another user recommended she check out cult-favorite brand The Ordinary, calling out its Hyaluronic Acid 2% + B5 serum and AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. "Imma buy today," the rapper replied.
We'll be keeping tabs on any skin-related updates Cardi B might share, but in the meantime, keep scrolling to see more skincare recommendations users dropped in her mentions and keep your eyes peeled to see if your favorite breakout and hydration remedies made the list.
