I'm Not a Dress Person, But These 6 Fall Trends Are Calling My Name https://ift.tt/3ay4mIA

We're happy to write extensively about sweaters, boots, and skinny jeans, but there's more to fall than those fashion items alone. We saw so many jaw-dropping dresses on the F/W 19 runways that we knew back in February that this was going to be a big season for frocks. Sure enough, at Copenhagen Fashion Week (which really kicks off fashion month), the streets were lined with some of the most stylish women in the world, many of whom were wearing those fall dress trends that we spotted on the runways months ago.

Wearing dresses when it's warm out is a no-brainer, but we encourage you not to forget that it's an option when there's a chill in the air too. By simply adding tights and boots or even layering it over jeans or pants, a dress is suddenly one of the most appropriate things you can wear for fall. So with that, keep scrolling to find out which six fall dress trends are blowing up, and shop some of our favorites on the market for each.

There's a good chance you haven't worn a baby doll dress since age nine, but hear us out. Fashion girls of all ages are embracing this trend, and the more oversize the better. Just be sure to pair it with sophisticated accessories and footwear for maximum impact.

Head-to-toe leather is a trend that everyone will wear this fall, so it makes sense that it applies to dresses too. Whether genuine or faux, a leather dress is a surefire way to earn more than a few compliments this season.

Puff sleeves have been a trend for the majority of 2019, and it's naturally continuing on to fall dresses. While it may be tricky to throw a jacket on over one of these as temperatures drop, the pretty silhouette is perfect for those soon-to-come early fall days.

While mini- and midi-length dresses certainly aren't "out," the freshest length to wear right now is long. It's hard not to look elegant in this style, especially when it's paired with leather knee boots.

Yes, a trench is technically outerwear, but it's the coolest outerwear to wear as a dress, with its numerous buttons and belted waist. It looks particularly cool layered over another dress, which is a look we expect to see a lot throughout fashion month.

Next up, 30 long-sleeve dresses you'll live in this fall.
