16 Anti-Basics I'm Eyeing to Jolt Me Out of an Outfit Lull https://ift.tt/2Z17c4x

So I might have overinvested in basics—sue me. I got so eager about filling my closet with wardrobe basics like plain tees and tanks that I completely ignored those more exciting pieces that actually make an outfit, and now I'm finding myself bored of my closet. Don't get me wrong. I don't regret buying into so many basics, since I know they'll always be useful, but one thing is clear: I'm in desperate need of a closet revival.

Luckily for me (and for you, too, if you find yourself in a similar situation), I have just the thing that will bring my closet back to life and make getting dressed exciting again. Our very own Who What Wear collection is stocking plenty of the anti-basics I'm currently craving, like printed sundresses, puff-sleeve tops, and plenty of bright colors to go around. I can already tell these under-$40 pieces will jolt me out of my outfit boredom, so keep scrolling to shop them all.

I'm weirdly so into this print.
Statement tops never fail to freshen up my closet.
Since I have so many basic tops on my hands now, I need this skirt to wear with them.
If neutrals are more your thing, this subtle print is for you.
The color combination here makes this look way more than $28.
This neckline is a great showcase for all those cute necklaces you have.
Basic top, not-so-basic color.
How charming are these tie straps?
Polka dots feels especially fresh right now but also kind of a classic.
I always need a breezy white top like this in the summer.
Because sometimes one sleeve is better than two.
Pretty polka dots for the win.
It's hard to feel boring in a pretty dress like this.
Another excellent piece to wear with all your basic tops.
White tees, these pants are looking at you.

Up next: My stylish co-workers are making these under-$50 pieces look way pricier.
