I'm a Fashion Editor and This Is What I'm Wearing to Work From My Living Room https://ift.tt/3eRgS7T

Welcome to Weekday Wardrobe, a series in which one Who What Wear editor or staffer will snap a pic of their 9-to-5 look each day and break down where you can shop it all to inspire your own everyday style.

If I was writing this three months ago, there's no doubt my weekday wardrobe would look remarkably different from today (I'd be in a sharp blazer, a pretty blouse, and some chic boots strolling into WWW HQ), but since working from home for the last six weeks due to the current circumstances, I've been embracing a much more casual and relaxed aesthetic in my own habitat.

That doesn't mean I've been living in my PJ's all day (although some days it can be tempting), but if there's one thing I've learned from working from home, it's how important it is to actually get dressed in the morning—imperative for getting my mind and body into work mode.

A well-rounded mix of comfortable yet elevated pieces (think effortless and easy poplin blouses you can throw on with leggings or a luxurious-feeling sweater dress with slippers) not only inspires me to be at my most productive (and Zoom-ready) but also keeps my morale high during these uncertain times. That's the best thing about fashion: It has a way of uplifting our spirits, even during quarantine.

So below, I want to share a week's worth of comfy cool outfits I've been wearing to work from my home this week that may just inspire your next at-home look.

On Mondays, I tend to need an extra shot of motivation (and caffeine), so I'll reach for a smart and chic top to get me in work mode. I've been particularly loving knit polo tops because they're the perfect balance of comfort and polish. I've been gravitating towards serene and soft blue hues lately—perhaps because it's strongly associated with tranquility, calmness, and stability. Plus, a pop of color always boosts my mood. And on Mondays, I bust out my most luxe-feeling sweats so that I'm cozy and comfy but don't feel like I'm slumping.
Tuesday is the day I have the most Zoom meetings, so I've been making sure my waist-up looks are video-conference-ready. While I'm not grabbing for my blazer anytime soon, I am leaning towards effortless yet polished tops that look like I've made the effort but are really easy-to-wear. I love breezy, roomy, and non-restrictive poplin blouses and shirts right now that I can easily slip on with my staple black leggings. (Bonus if they have a puff-sleeves and a chic neckline.) I've also been discovering the power of chic accessories to amp up my outfits. Bow ribbon hair ties are a welcome, affordable, and easy alternative to my basic hair ties.
There's no doubt my at-home wardrobe consists mostly of basics these days, but I'm trying to opt for staples with elevated details—such as a chic high-neck tank top (I'm in love with this one from The Line by K) or silky-feeling pants (this H&M pair feels slightly smarter than my average sweatpants). I also love adding a crazy soft crisp sweatshirt (my favorite is from Lou & Grey), which exudes a relaxed yet pulled-together look.
While I'm not wearing too many dresses these days (I am gravitating towards two kinds), easy, breezy, billowy poplin dresses and luxe-feeling relaxed sweater dresses—the perfect no-think option when I'm running out the shower and into a Zoom meeting.
As the temps start to rise, I've been adding shorts to my daily work-from-home rotation (something I would never usually be able to wear at the office, but it's perfect for casual Fridays in my own home!). I've been switching up my leggings for bike shorts and pairing them with sporty sandals and a chic sweatshirt. The Range is one of my go-to brands for elevated basics like these.
Shorts, a tee, sneaks, and a cardi is my favorite off-duty outfit combo for running around with my toddler and doing errands.
I love a great tonal ensemble. On Sunday, I opted for a serene and soft palette of neutrals for lounging and FaceTiming with family.

Up next, the $10 accessories I'm wearing for all my virtual hang outs.
