Simply put, it's our job to find the best beauty products out there for you. From the newest serum to the hottest lipstick color to the dry shampoo that will change your life, we will find it, test it, and let you know what we think. We're not complaining. It's a pretty fun gig, and we'll volunteer to be beauty guinea pigs any day.
But one of the cool things to come out of this is finding out what products you're loving and buying. It helps us figure out what you want to learn more about and what you're into so we can bring even more personalized recs to you.
Because we share a lot of our favorites with you every single day, we recognize it might be hard to keep up. So we've decided to put together a handy weekly list of what we love and what you love—consider this a CliffsNotes, one-stop shop of what's really trending and worth adding to your cart at this very moment.
This week, I'm sharing all the products that can help your winter skin woes. You know, the dry, redness, stressed-out skin you might be experiencing this time of year. Take a look at what the Who What Wear universe (including editors, staffers, and readers) is obsessed with right now, and if you don't see a new favorite on this list, we'd love to know. Every time I write about my dry skin and the products I use to keep it under control, I have to include this moisturizer from Neutrogena. It's my holy-grail product when my skin is angry. It absorbs quickly, and the gel formula is super calming. I use it all the time but bring it out even more in the winter.
When my skin is extra thirsty, I apply this ultra-moisturizing overnight mask. It's formulated with mineral water and antioxidants to revive dry and dull skin.
You can probably see a trend here––I tend to gravitate toward the gel- and water-based formulas when my skin is super dry, especially during the wintertime. This cleanser is soap-free, so it doesn't strip your skin, and it's infused with refreshing rose water and mint.
Formulated with pure hyaluronic acid, this serum locks in moisture like no other. It also contains licorice root extract and purple rice extract to give the HA a boost. You'll notice a reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and a smoother skin texture.
The holidays are a time when work and personal stress are at an all-time high, which cause my skin to freak out, too. This ice roller is so soothing on my skin and does a good job of waking it up when I'm tired.
Let this cream work its magic overnight––it contains a ceramide and peptide complex and hyaluronic acid to restore, soften, and hydrate the skin. It's also fragrance-free and noncomedogenic.
I discovered this serum in early quarantine when my skin was really going through a dry patch, and I'm pretty sure I'm going to be using it nonstop this winter. The glycerin-infused formula is so calming and soothing and leaves my skin feeling super soft.
This three-in-one serum does it all: resurfaces, hydrates, and clarifies dull skin. It has a 14% AHA/BHA flower acid blend to exfoliate dead skin cells, hyaluronic acid to leave the skin looking plumper, and a proprietary honey blend that is just so soothing.
You can't forget about your hands this time of year, especially if you're washing them often like you should be! This cream will keep your hands soft and smooth without leaving a greasy film.
Sunscreen is always a must-have, even when it's not sunny outside. This zinc oxide formula provides UVA and UVB protection and is okay to use if you have a sensitive, acne-prone, or rosacea-affected skin type.
This is my everyday eye cream, but it especially comes in handy when the sensitive skin around my eyes feels dry. The formula reduces the appearance of dark circles and puffiness and moisturizes the skin.
For an ultra-rich treatment, this body butter is just heavenly. It contains nourishing ingredients such as shea butter, mango butter, fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins A, C, D, and E.
I like that this cleanser has exfoliating ingredients to promote cell turnover so I don't have to worry about applying other products that could dry out my skin. I find that this gel wash doesn't make my skin feel overly clean afterward (i.e., stripped dry of natural oils).
If I need to remove makeup or double cleanse, I like using Bioderma's soothing and refreshing micellar water. It's really good at getting off that waterproof mascara.
This is probably my favorite skincare purchase of 2020. It really turns my tired skin around, no matter how stressed or exhausted I am. Ferulic acid and vitamins C and E really make my face glow.
Chapped lips are another wintertime annoyance. This lip balm contains avocado oil, mongongo oil, and tripeptide-1 to hydrate and plump lips.
If you're dealing with dry and sensitive skin, you'll want to keep Vanicream in your rotation. The moisturizing lotion is free of dyes, fragrance, lanolin, parabens, and formaldehyde. I especially love it for my eczema.
Use this mask when your hands need a little extra TLC. It's formulated with shea butter and prebiotic oat to moisturize and repair the skin barrier.
This cream is rich, but it's not too heavy or greasy. It's another moisturizer I like to keep on rotation. Ingredients include Japanese purple rice (packed with antioxidants), Okinawa algae blend and hyaluronic acid for moisture, and botanical extracts for that dewy glow.
For any redness, try this treatment that also protects against UV damage and other environmental stressors. Apply after moisturizing––the cream will turn from green to beige as it corrects redness.
This is my other secret weapon for the softest skin. The supplement contains skin-supporting ingredients like ceramides, ferulic acid, CoQ10, valerian root, passionflower, hops, and peppermint to protect the skin from dryness and promote elasticity and cell turnover. Next up, the 10 worst things you can put on your face, according to a cosmetic chemist.
