Winter is Here: 8 (Surprisingly Affordable) Things We're Wearing On Repeat https://ift.tt/37s6ujW

Earlier this week I went to bed after enjoying a crisp late-fall day and by the time I woke up over a foot of snow had fallen, painting the landscape in a total whiteout and leaving zero doubt in my mind: winter is officially here. While I didn't expect it happen that fast, I'm excited to usher in a fresh round of new season staples to my closet and the winter-ready items from our namesake clothing line are hitting the spot.

My fellow editors and I are back at it again with our try-on series just in time for the start of winter and the holidays. If you're familiar with these posts, then just keep scrolling to get your download of the latest affordable shopping picks and how to style them. But if you happen to be new here, then let me fill you in.

As a refresher, we drop new pieces for our Who What Wear line each month, and today's roundup highlights the chic loungewear looks, ribbed knits, and easy sweaters from the December collection. Even though nothing rings up for more than $40 in this edit, the cool looks our editors put together are making these affordable buys look far pricier. Ahead, see how we each wear our picks, and then shop our favorites if you're so inspired.

"This sweater is a huge upgrade from my basic crew neck knits. Hello, cute black and white pattern and elongated sleeve cuffs! It has special details that make it stand out, but is essentially just as wearable as my plain sweaters."
Pictured: Jean Riley Betty Hoops ($55); Levi's High Loose ($98) . "I crave chunky knitwear, and this Who What Wear collection sweater is just my fix. It's not only incredibly well-wade (basically, it's rivaling your Granny's knitted sweaters) but the beautiful green and white yarn create a festive Holiday vibe without going into the ugly sweater terrain."
"There's truly nothing I love more than a good turtleneck dress. Seriously, come winter, they enter my wardrobe rotation in a major way. This one is perfect because it's looser through the midsection, making it ultra-comfortable, but small details like the puckering on the sleeves and jeweled button on the back of the neck give it some extra polish. If I were going to be out and about around the holidays, this dress would definitely be making multiple appearances!"
Pictured: Tamara Mellon Clash Boots ($695); vintage belt. "This dress is a pure delight. The ribbed knit fabric hugs you well without any awkward clinging and it's just as comfortable as you'd imagine. Thanks to pretty details like subtle puff sleeves and not-to-be-missed crystal buttons on the backside of the turtleneck, this number is a stunner all on its own, so I opted to style it minimally with a vintage belt and black ankle boots. I'm already putting it in my holiday outfit rotation since it strikes the perfect balance of cozy and festive."
"This cardigan feels like a cloud, which is the best compliment I can give a sweater. It's nice and slouchy, so you can easily layer it like I did here, and the slightly puffed sleeves make it even cuter."
Pictured: Petal and Pup Spiro Set ($100);Steve Madden Vesa Faux Shearling Clogs ($22). "I'm living in sweaters these days, so I'm always looking for a knit with unique details that can add a little oomph to my outfit. This ruffle sweater does just that. It's romantic, playful, and easy to dress up or down. I've been styling mine with knit shorts, jeans, and sweats for a casual winter look."
Pictured: Zara Faux Leather Blazer ($70). "I’m not really a dress person, but I love the muted tones on this one for fall/winter. I edged it up with a leather blazer and I think I’ll be looking into wearing dresses more often.”
Pictured: House of Sunny Peggy Cardigan ($105). "I love that these faux leather pants aren't black. They make any outfit ten times more exciting thanks to that rich green hue."
Pictured: Nanushka Naum Vegan Leather Top ($425). "Leather on leather is always a foolproof pairing in my book. I love the shade of these olive green pants and immediately thought to add this cream vegan leather button-down top. I'm a big fan of neutrals but it feels good to swap in something other than my standard black uniform."
